In Her Own Words
I moved to Greensboro more than 22 years ago, never imagining it would become my forever home. But I stayed—because I found a community full of promise, potential, and people who care deeply about one another.

Greensboro is one of the most livable cities in the Southeast, with every potential to become a flagship city. District 2 is rich with history, tradition, and culture—but also burdened by decades of disinvestment and neglect. I believe we can confront those truths and begin to repair what’s broken.

This campaign is more than a race for office—it’s a call to build a future where justice, business, and economic development are not competing priorities but mutually held values.

MONICA’S VISION
1. Targeted Reinvestment & Redevelopment
We must fight for clean water, reliable transit, safe parks, sidewalks, and stormwater systems that protect every community. Infrastructure isn’t just about roads—it’s about dignity, health, and opportunity.

2. Expand Housing Opportunities
We need policies that reverse disinvestment, protect tenants, and support land trusts and community ownership—without overburdening any one neighborhood.

3. Address the Root Causes of Crime and Violence
Crime is not random. It is the result of failed systems. We need prevention—not just punishment—and we must create environments that promote dignity and mutual respect.

4. Environmental Protection for All
Every community deserves clean air, safe water, and protection from environmental harm. We must invest in green infrastructure and prioritize environmental justice.
“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
